Felician S. Tungaraza is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and
Anthropology at the University of Dar es Salaam. He holds a PhD in Social Policy from the
University of Augsburg, Germany, MA and BA in Sociology from the University of Dar es
Salaam, post-doctoral training in Health and Behavior Research from Harvard University,
USA; Participatory Research Methodology from the Institute of Development Studies,
University of Sussex, UK, HIV/AIDS and Development from the University of South Africa,
Pretoria.
Professor Tungaraza has over 35 years of teaching, research and consultancies. He has published
over 21 articles, over 14 book chapters, over 15 research reports, over 28 consultancy reports and
presented over 38 conference papers. He has also served as Head of Department of Sociology
and Anthropology, Deputy Principal for Academic, Research and Consultancy at Mkwawa
University College of Education, University of Dar es Salaam.
